Highland Children’s Center is a 5-star licensed center that is structured to meet the social, physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual needs of children. Our goal is to encourage each child to develop his or her own uniqueness. We teach and guide children to be successful in school, at home, and in our society, while also preparing them for Kindergarten.

Our curriculum is based off of the The Creative Curriculum®.  All activities are developmentally appropriate and are geared to the age and abilities of each child.  Each classroom offers a variety of activities in different learning centers such as Science, Math, Blocks, Art, Dramatic Play, Music and more.  Play is the natural way of learning for young children and through play, children will be exposed to Kindergarten readiness skills. Children feel secure knowing what to expect on a consistent basis, so there are structured activities planned throughout the day in a nurturing and Christian environment.

Our center is privileged to serve children 12 months through 5th grade. We provide a full day 5 star Preschool program from 7:30–6:00, an Afterschool program from 3:00 – 6:00 as well as a Summer Camp Program for K-5. We provide a nutritional morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack. In addition to our curriculum in the classroom, the children attend Chapel once a week.  In the Fall of 2009-2010 we started a new Pre-K class for children that missed Wake County’s cut off date, or for children that aren’t quite ready for Kindergarten. Children who are eligible for our Pre-K class must be 5 years old before December 31st.

(All tuition is electronically deducted the first of each month.)

*10% sibling discounts on oldest child
Registration is $100 for each student (due yearly)

Highland Children’s Center has an ongoing waitlist for the Preschool and Afterschool Programs.  It is maintained throughout the year.  When a space becomes available, office administration refers to the waitlist.  There is no fee to be placed on our waitlist.  We ask that all children be born first to be placed on the list.

When an opening becomes available, we will contact you for a tour to see our facility. After your center tour and your decision has been made to enroll in Highland Children’s Center, you will be given a registration form to complete and a  $100 registration fee will be collected to secure your child’s space.  We will discuss your child’s enrollment date and an Enrollment Packet will be sent to you via mail.

Most of our enrollment for each year is done each spring for our following school year which begins each September.  This is a time where we transition our current children up to the next age level classroom.

If you are interested in placing your child on our waitlist, please call us at 919-787-2182, or email Judy Sprout or Gretchen Shaffer with the following information: We would be more than happy to place you on our list.
