The $150 registration fee covers 4 days of meals, lodging, materials, supplies, camp t-shirt, and helps us with transportation expenses.

Scholarships for this trip are available and completely confidential. Money should never be the reason you are unable to attend. However, you must still meet the registration deadline and fill out a scholarship request form. The form is available at www.highlandumc.org/youth/youthforms

Schedule:

  • Monday: meet at Hayes Barton UMC at 7pm; sign in, worship and games, meet your teams, settle in for the night
  • Tuesday-Thursday: get up early, eat breakfast together, make lunches, devotion, projects from 9-3ish, come back to Hayes Barton for free time, dinner, worship, small groups, games
  • Friday: breakfast together, worship, testimonies, slideshow, say goodbye!

Lodging: Everyone will stay at Hayes Barton. There will be a rented shower trailer to accommodate everyone. Worship, small groups, games, and meals will be in the Hayes Barton gym and fellowship hall.

Projects: Last year’s projects included Habitat for Humanity, Interfaith Food Shuttle urban garden, Raleigh Food Bank, Pullen Baptist Round Table ministry (feeding the homeless and food insecure), Hayes Barton preschool camps, and making dinner for SAFEchild families. We hope to add more projects this year!  Most projects included some kind of education about the organization, what they do, and why they do it.  For example, there was an awesome panel on homelessness/misconceptions to go along with the Pullen Round Table project.

WORSHIP: SLAM does an awesome job of tying service and worship together.  The SLAM team participates alongside us in our mission work and provides us with worship including a band and engaging speaker, as well as facilitating small groups split up by age, and super fun and crazy “Late-Nite” games.
