The United Methodist Women are a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. Highland has eight "circles" of women who gather regularly for fellowship, study, and mission. All ladies are welcome!

The Men’s Fellowship and Prayer Group meets every Tuesday Morning at 6:30am sharp in the Conference Room of Highland. The group has a morning devotion, shares prayers and concerns and adjourns promptly at 7:30am. It includes both church members and nonmembers of various age groups. Coffee is served and all are welcome, regardless of where you are in your spiritual journey. While very informal, simply bring a Bible and an eagerness to learn more about the Bible.

The over-arching purpose for the Highland United Methodist Men’s group is to help men to grow in Christ and support the community through Christ so that others can know Christ as well. We strive to reach that goal by providing support, education, and service opportunities to the men of Highland United Methodist church. Highland’s UMM is made up of men of all ages from all walks of life. We are clergy and laymen, policemen and engineers, fathers, sons, and grandfathers. Our common purpose allows us to come together once a month to socialize and be blessed with programs that inspire, move, and enlighten us. We provide power to fuel a number of church social and service projects each year such as a cleanup day for the grounds, our annual BBQ and bake sale (with the UMW), and a number of smaller events.
We meet in the Bradley Center (gym) at 7:30am on the 2nd Saturday of each month for the best home-cooked breakfast in town plus an enlightening program.

God's Gals is a women's ministry at Highland.  Women of all ages meet quarterly for a meal and a fun activity. It's a great way to make new friends and have a good time. "Dinner and a Movie Nite", a weekend trip to the flower festival at the Biltmore House, line dancing lessons and a baby shower for Pastor Heather have been some of the activities for our first year. Check the bulletin, the website, or the Ridge Rider for upcoming events. The more the merrier!

Also meeting for informal fellowship, discussion, and some coffee, a group of Highland friends gather each Tuesday morning at 10:00 am – either in Room 210 or the Conference Room. This small group of erudite scholars, philosophers, (and possibly one or two retired hobos) gathers to discuss and definitively resolve the knotty issues troubling the rest of humanity. A secondary objective is to assure that each participant shares rib-tickling humor recently gathered from Internet ?Forward, Forward, Forward, Forward, …(etc.).
All men who are ambulatory, or who can be delivered in wheelchairs or go-carts are welcome to participate! The only cost or hazard is to your stomach lining (as Bill Kiger often makes the coffee).
