United Methodist Women

The United Methodist Women are a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. Highland has eight "circles" of women who gather regularly for fellowship, study, and mission. All ladies are welcome!

HUMW Yard Sale:

Thanks too everyone who donated, volunteered, and purchased items.  Special thanks goes to Jeanne Shorter, who organized and ran the sale. Oh, and a very special thank you to Jeanne's little elf, Ken, who was by her side and helped all day Friday and Saturday.   It was HUMW's best yard sale netting $1,196.89, which will be used for United Methodist Women's ministries.   Amy Massey, HUMW Treasurer

Highland Tuesday Morning Men's Prayer & Fellowship Group

Each Tuesday morning at 7:00 AM (***Note time change***), a group of men meets for an hour in the large conference room for coffee, fellowship, discussion and prayer.  We typically have 8-10 guys, most are members of Highland, but not required.  Some are retired and some still working.  It provides a great support group for those attending, so plan to drop in and join us on Tuesdays and you will find this a great way to start your morning.  For more information, contact  Rex Thomas or Barry Rodgers.

Senior Men's Coffee Assembly and Social, Tuesday Mornings 10:00 AM
Meetings feature informal fellowship and the (definitely intellectual) discussion of important world events. As the resident “Wise Men,” of HUMC (based on our life experiences and humbly reported extreme intellectual prowess) we often prescribe optimal solutions for common human problems. (However, ABSOLUTELY no discussion of foibles of commonly-known Highland members is permitted!)
Learned debate also leads to conclusions about how Federal and State governments should address various concerns. (Some slurping and occasional spilling of robust coffee also occurs.)
This group of Highland friends gathers each Tuesday morning at 10:00 am in the Room 210. Come join us for informal discussions of the great issues facing mankind (and a few reminiscences of our personal “days gone by!”).

United Methodist Men

The over-arching purpose for the Highland United Methodist Men’s group is to help men to grow in Christ and support the community through Christ so that others can know Christ as well. We strive to reach that goal by providing support, education, and service opportunities to the men of Highland United Methodist church. Highland’s UMM is made up of men of all ages from all walks of life. We are clergy and laymen, policemen and engineers, fathers, sons, and grandfathers. Our common purpose allows us to come together once a month to socialize and be blessed with programs that inspire, move, and enlighten us. We provide power to fuel a number of church social and service projects each year such as a cleanup day for the grounds, our annual BBQ and bake sale (with the UMW), and a number of smaller events.
