David J. Goehring came to Highland as its Senior Pastor in the summer of 2008. David spent wonderful, formative years growing up in Parkersburg, West Virginia. His family moved to Durham, North Carolina when he was going into the eighth grade. After graduating from Durham High, he went to UNC-Chapel Hill and then to Duke Divinity School. He met his wife, Carol, while at Duke. They have both been United Methodist ministers for thirty years, serving all across eastern North Carolina. They have two grown daughters, Kendra and Lindsey.
