Highland Children’s Center is a 5 star licensed center that is structured to meet the social, physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual needs of children. Our goal is to encourage each child to develop his or her own uniqueness. We teach and guide children to be successful in school, at home, and in our society, while also preparing them for Kindergarten. Our curriculum is based off of the The Creative Curriculum®.  All activities are developmentally appropriate and are geared to the age and abilities of each child.  Each classroom offers a variety of activities in different learning centers such as Science, Math, Blocks, Art, Dramatic Play, Music and more.  Play is the natural way of learning for young children and through play, children will be exposed to Kindergarten readiness skills. Children feel secure knowing what to expect on a consistent basis, so there are structured activities planned throughout the day in a nurturing and Christian environment.

What We Provide

Our center is privileged to serve children 12 months through 12 years of age. We provide a full day preschool program from 7:30 – 6:00 and an afterschool program for Lacy Elementary from 3:00 – 6:00. We provide a nutritional morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack. In addition to our curriculum in the classroom, the children attend Music and Chapel once a week.  Starting Fall of 2009-2010 we started a new Pre-K class for children that missed Wake County's cut off date, or for children that aren't quite ready for Kindergarten. Children who are elgible for our Pre-K class must be 5 years old before December 31st.

Summer Camp is offered for children that have completed grades K-5.  From June to August our School Age Summer Camp provides weekly themes, exciting field trips, swimming and MUCH more!  Call for more information or download our Summer Camp Brochure.
