Highland Children’s Center is a licensed center that is structured to meet the social, physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual needs of children. Our goal is to encourage each child to develop his or her own uniqueness. We teach and guide children to be successful in school, at home, and in our society, while also preparing them for Kindergarten. The classrooms offer a variety of activities in different learning centers such as Science, Math, Blocks, Art, Dramatic Play, Music and more. All activities are developmentally appropriate and are geared to the age and abilities of each child. Play is the natural way of learning for young children and through play, children will be exposed to Kindergarten readiness skills. Children feel secure knowing what to expect on a consistent basis, so there are structured activities planned throughout the day in a nurturing and Christian environment.
What We Provide
Our center is privileged to serve children 12 months through 12 years of age. We provide a full day preschool program from 7:30 – 6:00 and an afterschool program for Lacy Elementary from 3:00 – 6:00. We provide a nutritional morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack. In addition to our curriculum in the classroom, the children attend Music, Chapel, and Art classes once a week. Additional programs such as gymnastics and dance are also offered for an extra fee each week. Starting Fall of 2009-2010 we will begin our Toddler program at 12 months as well as incorporating a new Pre-K class room into our program.

Registration for the upcoming school year will begin in February 2010. We also accept children throughout the year if spaces are available. When your registration form and fee is received, you will then receive information on the enrollment process.
