Welcome to Highland United Methodist Church

Highland is an inviting family of faith seeking to love, serve and share Christ in our community and the world.  You are invited to come and join us as we journey together, growing in faith and working to be Christ's hands and feet in the world.  Whether at worship services, Bible studies, a Wednesday evening supper, or a night of movies and fellowship, there are countless ways to come see what Highland United Methodist Church is all about.

Holy Conversations: How to Handle Difficult Discussions

Led by Dr. Alan Swartz and Rev. Charlie Baber

Politics.  Homosexuality.  Immigrants.  Worship times.  Sometimes we can’t even agree to disagree.  As it becomes more and more challenging to talk to one another over difficult issues, can the gospel provide a way forward?  This three-week sermon series and Wednesday night study will teach a practical, biblical approach to civil discourse.

  •     May 3 - Introduction to the Practice of Holy Conversation
  •     May 10 - Practicing Holy Conversation on the Topic of Homosexuality
  •     May 17 - Practicing Holy Conversation on the Topic of Highland’s Worship

Wednesdays 6:30-7:45 pm in the Conference Room

Spiritual Formation - Winter/Spring 2017

Highland invites you to join our mission by challenging and growing in your own faith by participating in one of our Spiritual Formation Studies.  We value being actively engaged, not just in church life but also in pursuing your own spiritual growth -- so pick a study, jump on in and join us on the journey of faith!

We strive to reflect our church mission by balancing three essential components of the Christian life:

spiritual formation academy

  • Worshipful Life: Enhancing prayer life, personal growth and spiritual disciplines
  • Witness and Mission: Engaging others and understanding our own personal faith
  • Biblical Literacy: Studies of God’s Word
